Calamovilfa (A. Gray) Hackel ex Lamson-Scribner & Southworth. Subfamily: Chloridoideae. Tribe: Zoysieae. Subtribe: Sporobolinae. clade: "PACMAD". Sand-reed.

Key to Calamovilfa

A genus of about 5 species, perennial herbs, of e. and c. North America. Peterson et al. (2014a, 2014b) have recommended including Calamovilfa in Sporobolus, which may be warranted. An alternative would be splitting Sporobolus into monophyletic genera, of which Calamovilfa would be one, likely in an expanded circumscription to include apparently closely related components of Sporobolus, such as the S. floridanus group. We here retain Calamovilfa at generic rank while considering the best long-term solution
