*Persicaria filiformis (Thunberg) Nakai. Section: Tovara. Japanese Jumpseed. Hab: Suburban woodlands, escaping from horticultural use. Dist: Native of e. Asia. Reported as naturalizing in Baltimore County, MD, and Arlington County, VA (Simmons et al. 2020), but probably more widespread than currently mapped.

Origin/Endemic status: E. and se. Asia

Taxonomy Comments: This species is sold under various cultivar names ("Bat Wings", "Lance Corporal", "Painter's Palette"), often misrepresented as the native Persicaria virginiana.

Synonymy: = K4; = Antenoron filiforme (Thunb.) Roberty & Vautier – K4; = n/a – C, FNA5, Pa, Tat; = Persicaria virginiana (L.) Gaertn. var. filiformis (Thunb.) J.M.H.Shaw – Shaw (2008)
