Taxonomy Comments: A rare, possibly extinct taxa described from the Sand Mountain area, closely related to C. triflora Chapman but having 10 stamens per flower, large, roundish leaves and a straggling growth habit. Possibly a local variant form of C. triflora, or an intermediate; it has remained undocumented by collections for over 100 years.
