Hab: Rocky limestone areas (especially on the Edwards Plateau), but also in calcareous ravines in the Coastal Plain. Dist: E. and c. OK and TX, south into Mexico along the Sierra Madre Oriental; sometimes cultivated elsewhere, and beginning to escape, as in c. NC.
