Crataegus florens Beadle. Mississippi Hawthorn. Phen: Mar-Apr; Aug-Sep. Hab: Pine and pine-oak forests, subxeric to mesic habitats with sandy or clay soils. Dist: E. NC south to n. FL, west to LA.

ID notes: Distinctive characters include slightly pilose-pubescent inflorescences, slightly pubescent or glabrate leaves and 3-5 styles.
