Crataegus quaesita Beadle var. quaesita . Florida Hawthorn. Phen: Late Mar-Apr; Aug-Sep. Hab: Oak-pine forests, xeric woodlands, especially in sandy soils. Dist: S. GA, n. and peninsular FL.

ID notes:Purported in the protologue by Beadle to have purple anthers, a trait not confirmed among available herbarium specimens. This variety is more restricted in range than related varieties.
