Trifolium kentuckiense Chapel & Vincent. Kentucky Clover. Hab: Dry limestone woodlands. Dist: So far as is known, endemic to 2 counties in the Bluegrass Region of Kentucky (Fayette, Franklin, and Woodford counties) (Chapel & Vincent 2013; M. Brock, pers.comm., Feb 2024). Some old specimens from c. TN may represent this species and are under study.

Origin/Endemic status: Endemic

Taxonomy Comments: See Chapel & Vincent (2013) for additional detail. Koenig et al. (2021) determined that Trifolium kentuckiense is in the native eastern North American section Involucrarium, and most closely related to three other annual/biennial species: T. reflexum, T. bejariense, and T. carolinianum.
