Streptopus amplexifolius (Linnaeus) A.P. de Candolle. Common name: White Mandarin, Pagoda-bells. Phenology: Late Apr-early Jun; late Jul-Sep. Habitat: Moist forests and seepages at high elevations. Distribution: The species is circumboreal, the range fragmented.

Taxonomy Comments: Fassett recognized seven varieties, the plants in our area being var. americanus. The species ranges from Greenland and NL (Labrador) to MN, south (in the mountains and disjunctly) to NC, and in the west from AK (and Kamchatka) south to NM and AZ, in Japan, and in the Alps in Europe.
