Borrichia arborescens (Linnaeus) A.P. de Candolle. Green Seaside Oxeye. Phen: Jan-Dec. Hab: Salt and brackish marshes, mangrove swamps, other maritime and saline wetlands. Dist: S. peninsular FL; West Indies; Mexico (CAM, ROO, SLP, TAB, TAM, VER, YUC), Central America, South America.
Origin/Endemic status: Native
Taxonomy Comments: Ward (2012a) recognized var. arborescens, which "extends north along both coasts and [sic] onto the panhandle; its leaves are silvery-pubescent. On the Keys, Small's B. glabrata is of limited distribution, usually sympatric with the typical form, but readily distinguishable by its green, glabrous leaves". We regard these as likely merely forms.
