Spiranthes vernalis Engelmann & A. Gray. Spring Ladies'-tresses. Phen: Mar-Jul (-early Sep in the mountains). Hab: Pine savannas, bogs, marshes, fairly dry fields. Dist: MA to s. FL and west to TX and SD; West Indies; Mexico and Central America.
