*Iris sanguinea Hornemann ex Donn. clade: Limniris. Japanese Iris, Blood Iris. Phen: Apr-Jun; Jun-Aug. Hab: Roadsides, cultivated and rarely escaped. Dist: Native of Japan, n. China, Korea, Japan, and w. Russia. Reported for Cleburne County, AL by Spaulding & Triplett (2022), as I. sanguinea.

Origin/Endemic status: E. and se. Asia

Synonymy : = K1, K3, K4; = Limniris sanguinea (Donn ex Hornem.) Rodion. – Crespo, Martínez-Azorín, & Mavrodiev (2015); = n/a – FNA26, RAB; < Iris sibirica L. – Boltenkov et al (2020)
