Equisetum arvense Linnaeus. Field Horsetail, Bottlebrush Horsetail. Phen: Mar-May. Hab: Moist streambanks, bottomlands, moist disturbed sites, road banks, railroad banks. Dist: A circumboreal species, in North America south to c. GA, c. AL, c. MS, n. AR, n. TX, NM, AZ, and south into Mexico.
