Basiphyllaea corallicola (Small) Ames. Carter’s Orchid. Phen: Sep-Dec. Hab: Pine rocklands. Dist: S. FL (Miami-Dade and Monroe counties); West Indies (Bahamas, Greater Antilles).

ID notes:Populations in s. FL mostly consist of cleistogamous flowers, in which case the long, basal, fleshy and linear leaf (occasionally with 2 leaves) may aid in identification when the purple lip margins are less evident.
