Epidendrum amphistomum A. Richard. Dingy-flowered Star Orchid; Dingy-flowered Epidendrum. Phen: Jan-Jul (-Dec). Hab: Epiphytic on a wide variety of trees in strand swamps. One of the most common epiphytic orchids in s. FL swamps. Dist: S. FL; West Indies (Cuba).

Origin/Endemic status: Native

Taxonomy Comments: Sometimes included in E. anceps, which is also distributed in Mexico, Central America, and n. South America.

Other Comments: Diaspis boisduvalii (a widespread tropical scale), can affect plants of this species (and other Orchidaceae and Arecaceae) in s. FL (Ray et al. 2012).
