Physalis hederifolia A. Gray. Ivy-leaf Ground-cherry. Hab: Sandy or rocky prairies, stream valleys. Dist: W. SD and s. MT south to e. OK, s. TX, NM, AZ, s. NV, s. CA, and s. Mexico. Not present in LA (Pyne 2018).

Origin/Endemic status: Native

Taxonomy Comments: See Pyne (2018) for discussion of distribution and a brief overview of taxonomy. Several varieties have been named; P. fendleri may be distinct; more study is warranted.
