Hab: Nutrient-rich cove forests (and less commonly in drier forests), over mafic or calcareous rocks. Dist: VT and s. QC west to MN, south to SC (P. McMillan pers. comm. 2003, specimen at CLEMS), nw. GA, MS (Dorey & Bryson 2016), and AR.
