Carex floridana Schweinitz. Section: [26bbb] Section 39 Acrocystis. Florida Sedge. Phen: (Feb-) Mar-May. Hab: Mesic hammocks, dry hammocks, maritime forests. Dist: S. NJ south to c. peninsular FL, west to TX. See McAvoy (2021) for discussion of the occurrence of this species in NJ, MD, DE, and VA.

Origin/Endemic status: Endemic
