Carex juniperorum Catling, Reznicek, & Crins. Section: [26kkk] Section 44 Phyllostachyae. Juniper Sedge. Phen: May-Jun. Hab: On edges of calcareous glades and barrens, in subxeric to submesic calcareous woodlands. Dist: This species was recently described, and is so far known only from alvars in s. ON, calcareous glades and barrens in s. OH and ne. KY, and has recently been found in Montgomery Co., VA (Belden et al. 2004) and Botetourt Co., VA (Townsend, pers. comm., 2008).
