Carex oligosperma Michaux. Section: [26qq] Section 30 Vesicariae. Few-seeded Sedge. Phen: May-Jun. Hab: Bogs, fens, and seeps at high elevations in the s. Appalachian mountains, abundant but local in temperate and boreal peatlands further northward. Dist: NL (Newfoundland) west to NT, south to CT, c. PA, n. OH, n. IN, WI, and MN; disjunct southwards in WV (Hardy County) and NC (Ashe, Avery, Mitchell, and Watauga counties).
