Carex bromoides Willdenow ssp. bromoides . Section: [26n] Section 10 Deweyanae. Common Brome Sedge. Phen: Feb-Jul. Hab: Swamp forests, bogs, seeps, hydric hammocks, other wetlands, often associated with base-rich soils. Dist: Ssp. bromoides ranges from NB west to e. MN, south to c. peninsular FL and e. TX; allegedly disjunct in s. Mexico, but not in Villaseñor (2016).

Origin/Endemic status: Native

Other Comments: Naczi (1999b) reports a chromosome number of n = 32-34.
