ID notes:A marginally distinct variety that is distinguished by its ovate, mostly unlobed leaves.

Origin/Endemic status: Endemic

Taxonomy Comments: Intermediates with other varieties of sympatric C. viridis may occur. The MO entity Crataegus nitens Sargent is similar and here considered in synonymy; it may actually be of interserial hybrid origin.
