Eurybia compacta Nesom. Subgenus: Heleastrum. Section: Calliastrum. Slender Aster. Phen: Late Jul-Oct. Hab: Pine savannas, hardpan woodlands, clearings. Dist: NJ to e. GA, mainly on the Coastal Plain, but also in the lower Piedmont.

Origin/Endemic status: Endemic

Taxonomy Comments: A diploid species (2n=18).
