*Galium pedemontanum (Bellardi) Allioni. Piedmont Bedstraw, Piedmont Crosswort. Phen: Apr-Jul. Hab: Lawns, grassy roadsides, pastures. Dist: Native of s. Europe. In GA Mountains and Piedmont (T. Govus, pers. comm. 2005). Reported for DE and MD by Longbottom, Naczi, & Knapp (2016).

Origin/Endemic status: Mediterranean Europe and Africa

Taxonomy Comments: The Piedmont referred to in the name is the ‘original’ Piedmont of southern Europe.
