Quercus fusiformis Small. Subgenus: Quercus. Section: Virentes. Plateau Oak, Plateau Live Oak, Encino. Hab: Dry sands, rocky areas (often calcareous), scrub; also planted eastwards of its native distribution (as in AR), and sometimes weakly naturalizing near those plantings. Dist: E. and s. OK south through TX to Mexico (COA, NLE, TAM, VER).

Synonymy: = FNA3, K3, K4, Mex, NcTx, S13, Tx; = Quercus virginiana Mill. var. fusiformis (Small) Sarg. – GrPl
