ID notes:This species is much like R. fascicularis but with smaller heads, narrower leaves, etc. The seed bristles are as long as the seed body or even longer (vs. less than half as long as the body in R. fascicularis). R. distans may intergrade with R. wrightiana in the outer Coastal Plain of the Carolinas.
