Rhynchospora pinetorum Britton & Small. Small's Beaksedge. Phen: Jun-Sep. Hab: Wet calcareous pine savannas. Dist: FL west to MS (Sorrie & Leonard 1999) and e. TX, apparently somewhat disjunct to se. NC and ne. SC; also in the West Indies.

ID notes:Rhynchospora pinetorum is closely related to R. globularis; it is told from that species by the achene bristles at least 2/3 the length of the achene body (vs. usually less than 1/2 the achene body length in R. globularis).
