Solidago speciosa Nuttall. Subgenus: Solidago. Section: Erectae. Series: Erectae. Showy Goldenrod, Noble Goldenrod. Phen: Aug-Oct. Hab: Pastures, forests, woodlands, roadbanks. Dist: NH, VT, NY, and WI south to GA, MS, LA, and OK.

Origin/Endemic status: Native

Taxonomy Comments: Probably better accorded species rank separate from S. rigidiuscula, following Semple et al. (2012).
