Stachys floridana Shuttleworth ex Bentham. Florida Betony, Rattlesnake-weed. Phen: Apr-Jul; May-Aug. Hab: Disturbed sites, roadsides, gardens; probably not native northward of Florida. Dist: Native from n. FL and Panhandle FL south to s. FL; now in a much more extensive range in our region by recent spread.

Other Comments: The common name "Rattlesnake-weed" refers to the moniliform rhizomes.
