Key to Rhexia

A genus of about 13 species, herbs, of North America. Rhexia is the only genus of the Melastomataceae to occur in North America north of s. FL.

ID notes:Measurements of the hypanthium are to the base of the calyx lobes. Some species, especially Rhexia alifanus, often have leaves in whorls of three rather than opposite.
