Oeceoclades maculata (Lindley) Lindley. Monk Orchid. Phen: Aug-Nov. Hab: Dry hammocks. Dist: Native of Africa. First discovered in North America in s. FL in 1974; now at least as far north as Alachua County, FL (Wunderlin & Hansen 2011; FNA; K3). Considered by some to be undergoing a natural range expansion, and mapped as "possibly native".

Origin/Endemic status: Subsaharan Africa

Synonymy: = Bah, FNA26, K3, K4, WH3, WI, Brown (2002), Martos et al (2014)
