Hab: Rich slopes adjacent to bottomland forests, mesic "islands" surrounded by bottomlands, moist hammocks. Dist: Ne. NC (Martin County), sc. NC (Gaston County), n. GA, w. TN, e. and se. KY, and e. AR south to the FL Panhandle and LA; Mexico (Baja California Sur, Hidalgo, Veracruz).
