Carex alata Torrey. Section: [26q] Section 12 Ovales. Common name: Broad-winged Sedge. Phenology: May-Jun. Habitat: Bottomland forests, beaver ponds, oligohaline tidal marshes, other freshwater marshes, depression ponds. Distribution: NH, MI, and MO south to c. peninsular FL and TX.
