Carex allegheniensis Mackenzie. Common name: Allegheny Sedge. Phenology: May-Jun. Habitat: Swamps, bogs, streamhead pocosins, other moist to wet habitats, boggy pools in floodplains. Distribution: Primarily from PA south to n. GA, mostly in the Appalachian Mountains; scattered reports more broadly need additional evaluation.
