Carex baltzellii Chapman. Section: [26ddd] Section 41 Pictae. Common name: Baltzell's Sedge. Phenology: Apr-May. Habitat: Steepheads, beech-magnolia slopes, and mesic to dry-mesic hammocks. Distribution: Sw. GA and Panhandle FL west to s. AL and s. MS.

Origin/Endemic status: Endemic

Synonymy : = FNA23, K4, NS, POWO, S, WH3, Mackenzie (1931-1935). Basionym: Carex baltzellii Chapm. 1847
