Carex brevior (Dewey) Mackenzie ex Lunell. Common name: Shortbeak Sedge. Phenology: Apr-Jun. Habitat: Prairie, dry forests, and woodland margin. Distribution: ME west to BC, south to n. GA, c. TN, MS, TX, TAM, AZ, and MIC.
