Carex digitalis Willdenow var. macropoda Fernald. Section: [26dd] Section 21 Careyanae. Long-spiked Slender Woodland Sedge. Phen: Apr-Jun. Hab: Moist to dry forests. Dist: PA and IL south to FL and TX.

Origin/Endemic status: Endemic

Taxonomy Comments: Naczi (1999b) reported a chromosome number of n = 24. Perhaps warranting species rank (C. Bryson, pers. comm., 2019).
