Carex elliottii Schweinitz & Torrey. Section: [26qq] Section 30 Vesicariae. Elliott’s Sedge. Phen: May-Jun. Hab: Bogs. Dist: E. NC south to c. pen. FL and west to s. AL.

ID notes: Carex elliottii can be distinguished by its cespitose habitat (rhizomes lacking or short) compared to C. louisianica and C. bullata which are long rhizomatous.

Origin/Endemic status: Endemic

Synonymy : = FNA23, GW1, K1, K3, K4, RAB, S, WH3, Mackenzie (1931-1935)
