not marked as a favorite taxon Carex gracilescens Steudel. Common name: Slender Loose-flowered Sedge. Phenology: Apr-Jun. Habitat: Moist, nutrient-rich forests, calcareous hammocks. Distribution: VT and s. QC west to WI, south to SC, AL, LA, and e. TX; disjunct in sw. GA and Panhandle FL.
