Carex novae-angliae Schweinitz. Common name: New England Sedge. Phenology: Early Jun-early Jul. Habitat: Moist forests. Distribution: Newfoundland and Labrador (Newfoundland) and Ontario, south to e. Pennsylvania, n. West Virginia, and Wisconsin.

Taxonomy Comments: Reports of this species from SC (POWO 2024, FNA23) are based on what has been described as Carex austrodeflexa.
