Carex socialis Mohlenbrock & Schwegman. Common name: Low Woodland Sedge. Phenology: Apr-Jun. Habitat: Blackwater and brownwater swamp forests and bottomlands, forested seepage areas. Distribution: Se. and sc. NC south to e. GA, west to e. TX, and north in the interior to s. IN, s. IL, and se. MO.
