2024 has been a banner year for making the best flora we can imagine. We've created:

Carex straminea Willdenow ex Schkuhr. Section: [26q] Section 12 Ovales. Straw Sedge. Phen: May-Jun. Hab: Pools in river scours, fresh tidal and nontidal marshes, other wetlands, wet oak savannas. Dist: MA west to WI, south to NC, KY, and MO.

Origin/Endemic status: Native

Synonymy : = F, FNA23, Il, K1, K3, K4, Mi, Mo1, NE, NY, Pa, Va; = Carex straminea Willd. ex Schkuhr var. straminea – C, G; = n/a – RAB; ? Carex richii (Fernald) Mack. – Tat, Mackenzie (1931-1935)
