Carex utriculata F. Boott. Section: [26qq] Section 30 Vesicariae. Common name: Beaked Sedge. Phenology: Jun-Aug. Habitat: Wet meadows, calcareous seeps, spring marshes. Distribution: Circumboreal, ranging south in North America to DE, w. VA, nw. and sw. NC, ne. TN (Johnson County, where perhaps extirpated), IN, NE, NM, CA, and n. Mexico; n. Eurasia. Recently verified for NC.
