not marked as a favorite taxon Cyperus diandrus Torrey. Common name: Umbrella Flatsedge. Phenology: Jul-Oct. Habitat: Interdune swales, ponds, exposed river and lake shores, usually where seasonally ponded. Distribution: Maine west to North Dakota, south to Virginia, c. Tennessee, n. Alabama, Illinois, Missouri, and Iowa.
