Cyperus refractus Engelmann ex Boeckeler. Common name: Reflexed Flatsedge. Phenology: Jul-Sep. Habitat: Dry sandy or rocky woodlands and forests, also in somewhat moister sites. Distribution: NJ west to OH and MO, south to SC, GA, AL, and AR.
ID notes: Flowering material of the much more common C. strigosus is sometimes misidentified as this species; see Key ZD.
