Eleocharis intermedia J.A. Schultes. Common name: Matted Spikerush. Phenology: Jul-Oct. Habitat: Calcareous fens and seepage areas, wet disturbed areas over calcareous rocks. Distribution: NS west to MN, south to VA, TN, and IL.
ID notes: The fruiting culms are of widely different lengths, the lowermost sprawling and much shorter than the longer.
