Eleocharis tricostata Torrey. Common name: Three-angle Spikerush. Phenology: Jul-Sep. Habitat: Wet pine savannas, natural depression ponds, clay-based Carolina bays. Distribution: Massachusetts, New York, and Michigan south to Florida, Alabama, and Mississippi. Records from Franklin Parish, Louisiana (R. Dale Thomas 2208; 2220) are actually Eleocharis verrucosa (S.G. Ward, personal annotation, 2026). The specimens from Perry County, MS; however, are correctly identified (S. Leonard s.n.; MMNS076477).
