Schoenoplectus torreyi (Olney) Palla. Common name: Torrey's Bulrush, Torrey's Threesquare. Phenology: Jul-Sep. Habitat: Sinkhole ponds. Distribution: NB west to MB, south to NJ, PA, WV, w. VA, MO, and NE. Known in VA only from natural ponds in Augusta and Rockingham counties. Reported as new to MD (Longbottom, Naczi, & Knapp 2016).
