Scirpus pendulus Muhlenberg. Common name: Rufous Bulrush, Nodding Bulrush. Phenology: Apr-Jul. Habitat: Fens, wet meadows and seeps over limestone, diabase, or other circumneutral rocks. Distribution: Maine west to Minnesota, South Dakota, and Colorado, south to North Carolina, ne. Florida, New Mexico, and n. Mexico.
