Hab: Wet pine savannas shallowly underlain by coquina limestone in the Coastal Plain, and apparently in diabase glades and barrens in the Piedmont. Dist: Currently known from scattered sites from NC south to FL and west to TX; disjunct in Mexico and Cuba.
