not marked as a favorite taxon Cystopteris protrusa (Weatherby) Blasdell. Common name: Lowland Bladder Fern. Phenology: Apr-Jun. Habitat: Rich woods or on moss- and soil-covered talus in boulderfields, loess bluffs, occasionally on ledges of rock outcrops. Distribution: New York and Ontario west to Minnesota, south to Georgia, Panhandle Florida (Washington and Gadsden counties) (Wunderlin & Hansen 2006; L. Byrd, pers.comm., 2020), Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, e. Texas, and Oklahoma.
